My works conceive themselves as spaces in which light, energy, and structure become perceptible and enter into relationship with the viewer.
Images, constellations, and fields of color emerge from impulses and condense through the process into visible form.

| Anka Manshusen was born in Bremerhaven, in northern Germany. After completing vocational training in craftsmanship in Hamburg, she studied Fine Arts at FIU Hamburg with Wolfgang Genoux and Karin Genoux, students of Joseph Beuys. In 1996, she graduated in Visual Communication with a specialization in photography from the University of Fine Arts of Hamburg (HFBK), where she studied under Prof. Silke Grossmann and Prof. Kilian Breier. Her work has been presented in international exhibitions and artistic contexts, including Barcelona, Madrid, Donostia / San Sebastián, Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Davos — at the CCCB (Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona), as part of Barcelona Design Week, as well as at various international art festivals and exhibitions. Today, Anka Manshusen lives and works between Germany and the Mediterranean coast of Spain. |
