Anka Manshusen

I am a visual artist with a background in photography. My work moves within the field of abstract image-making and emerges from an open, intuitive way of working.

I am interested in translating perception into visual form – in how light, structure, and movement create pictorial spaces that can be experienced both visually and physically.
Nature forms an essential foundation of my artistic practice. Landscapes, organic structures, and subtle atmospheric movements shape my visual language and inform my understanding of space, rhythm, and presence.

My practice begins with observation and listening. The works emerge as processes of becoming visible – not as the execution of predefined concepts, but as continuous movements between material, space, and perception.





I grew up in northern Germany and now live on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. The proximity to water shapes my sense of time, transformation, and depth, and continuously informs my work.
